Printing Press

The Printing Press was invented by a German named Johannes Gutenberg. It was invented around 1436. Thanks to the prinking press monks no longer had to hand write books. When monks would re-write books it could take them up to months or even a year just to re-write one copy. Due to this it made books very expensive. Gutenberg made it so that letters were engraved in slate or brass. The letters were put into words, sentences, and paragraphs. This made it so that copies could be printed quicker and cheaper. When a new page would need to be printed out Gutenberg would have to rearrange the letters on the entire page. This also helped books become published in different languages. It also helped knowledge travel in and out of Europe. The first book to be published with the most copies would be the Bible. I think that the Gutenberg Press was a great invention. I think that it was great because it was the first printing press. Without this invention we would still be paying a lot of money for books and we would still have to hand write them. So thanks to Gutenberg we can just print more copies of  the books we need. So in my opinion the printing press was the best invention of the Renaissance.
